Overlimit fee

You might imagine that if you try to go over the specified limit of your card, it will be declined, resulting in a red face. Not so. In some cases, the transaction will be allowed, resulting in your going more into the red on your card. Once you break the barrier, the overlimit fee is usually around $30 to $35 a month, but can be up to $50.

Late payment fee

This is also known as the overdue fee. Make your repayment late and you could be paying an extra $30 to $35 if your provider charges these fees. This one is easily avoided if you read your statements.
